Australian songwriter Kaurna Cronin releases an ode to the underrated simplicities of life

Multi-award-winning Australian folk-rocker and singer-songwriter Kaurna Cronin returns with his gripping new single Beauty Of The Backroads—a song that distils fifteen years of international touring, human connection, and poetic observation into one evocative piece of music.

Known for weaving story and song into experiences that are both intimate and expansive, Cronin once again does what he does best: leading listeners into the overlooked corners of life, where simplicity blooms into something profound. With its rhythmic acoustic textures, lyrical depth, and Cronin’s unmistakable voice, Beauty Of The Backroads is an anthem for the paths less travelled—the small gestures, quiet landscapes, and hidden moments that so often escape the spotlight.

The single arrives in the wake of Cronin’s recent European tour, a 30-date celebration of culture and community that took him to remarkable and unconventional venues throughout Germany, Latvia, Denmark, and Estonia. From lakeside stages to castle courtyards, village halls to decommissioned airports, each performance was a testament to Cronin’s unique approach: embedding himself in the rhythm of place, and honouring the people who keep culture alive away from the beaten path. This landmark tour will be released as a feature documentary in 2026, further highlighting his dedication to music that connects people not only through melody, but through shared experience.

“For me, Beauty Of The Backroads is about seeing the world through a softer and wider lens,” Cronin reflects. “It’s about valuing what’s often overlooked—the simplicity of a stranger’s kindness, the small towns with big stories, the moments that don’t announce themselves but somehow stay with you forever.”

With multiple national songwriting prizes and recognition including Folk Alliance Australia’s Artist of the Year, Kaurna Cronin has earned a reputation as one of his generation’s most compelling folk storytellers. His performances have been described as cinematic and theatrical, yet always anchored in authenticity—a rare combination that continues to resonate with audiences across Europe and beyond.

Beauty Of The Backroads is more than a single. It is a reminder to step away from the well-worn tracks and find meaning in the everyday landscapes we so often pass by.
